# AC repair

Warm air, weak airflow and repeated cycling are different symptoms. A useful repair enquiry explains what the system is doing, when it changed and whether the problem affects every room. Share the equipment type and any displayed fault message without opening the equipment.

## During the assessment

Ask what the diagnostic visit includes and how the findings will be explained. The contractor should distinguish a control, airflow or equipment issue before asking you to approve a repair. Refrigerant work and electrical testing belong with the appropriate professional; a symptom alone does not establish which component failed.

## Compare the complete scope

Compare the proposed repair, diagnostic charge, parts availability and any follow-up visit. If replacement is suggested, ask what supports that recommendation and how it addresses the original complaint. An equipment price without installation scope is difficult to compare with a complete proposal.

## Have these details ready

- Which rooms are warm, and when?
- Equipment type and safely visible model label
- Any recent thermostat, filter or renovation changes
- Access to the indoor and outdoor equipment

## Does warm air mean the AC needs replacing?

Warm air is a symptom, not a replacement diagnosis. Describe whether the fan runs, which rooms are affected and when the problem started. Ask the contractor to explain the findings and the available repair or replacement options before approving major work.
